Hindi- The most widely spoken language in India. Hindi is one of the two official languages of India and it is considered as the most comfortable language to communicate with wherever you are. Hindi is an Indo-Iranian language that evolved from Sanskrit, the ancient language of India. The connection with the Sanskrit language makes Hindi a special and beautiful language. The Hindi language is widely written, spoken, and understood in North India and other places in India. It has accepted words from the Dravidian languages of South India, as well as the Arabic, Persian, Chagatai, English, and Portuguese languages.

A very beautiful Hindi language is the first language of about 430 million people around the world. The language is spoken not only in India, but also in many other countries, including Guyana, Nepal, Tobago, Trinidad, Suriname, Fiji, and Mauritius. It is considered to be the fourth most-spoken language in the world.

Hindi was known by various names at different stages of its evolution in distinct eras. It was known as Apabhramsa at its earliest phase. The language began to develop in the 7th century as Apabhramsha and became stable by the 10th century. The Devanāgarī script, which is strongly influenced by Sanskrit, is used to write Hindi which was earlier known as Hindui. Devanagari is the script shared by both Hindi and Nepalese.

Modern Hindi has been extracted from ancient Khariboli, the original language vernacular spoken in Delhi. Ultimately Khariboli became Urdu in the 17th century, which later evolved as Hindi-Urdu and the Modern Hindi that is spoken today. The Hindi province is traditionally divided into two:

• The Eastern Hindi: Awadhi, Bagheli, and Chhattisgarhi.
• The Western Hindi: Haryanvi, Brajbhasha, Bundeli, Kanuji, and Khariboli.

The birth of the Hindi language can be outlined back to the 7th century when it was used as a religious language in northern India. Further, in the 10th century, Hindi began to be used as a literary language. Also, in 1878, the first Hindi newspaper was published. And the first book believed to be published in Hindi was Prem Sagar which was published by Lalloo Lal and described the tales of Lord Krishna. According to the 2001 Census of India Hindi now has 48 officially acknowledged dialects.

Hindi culture has been deeply connected to the language. As it is an ancient language, it contains hints of the entire history of many of the people of India. Hindi culture has been combined with other cultures for numerous centuries. In 400 AD, poet Kalidas wrote Vikramorvashiyam in Apabhramsa itself. The Hindi language is an essential component of Indian culture and heritage and glorifies national unity and solidarity. Hindi plays an important part in the economic, social, and cultural life of India. One of the most mesmerizing things about Hindi culture is the written form of Hindi. Written Hindi is an art form similar to the Kanji writing of Asia.

Medieval Hindi literature is celebrated by the influence of the Bhakti movement and the composition of long, epic poems. Awadhi and Braj Bhasha were the dialects in which the literature was developed. The development of Hindi literature has been categorized into three periods:

• Early Phase: (1868-1918)
• The phase of growth (1918-1937)
• Present phase (1938 onwards)

Every letter of the Hindi alphabet has its own liberated and typical sound that makes the language even more special. As an outcome, Hindi words are pronounced exactly as they are written to make the language easy to learn. Speaking the language exhibits respect and makes it easier for people to communicate and share their world.
